Our Environmental Sustainability Goals
At Moog, our commitment to environmental sustainability is integrated into our corporate strategy. we focus on critical areas that align our environmental management practices with our broader strategy goals, ensuring our actions benefit our people, community, and planet. This includes:
Energy and Climate Change
- Reduce our Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030 by 40% from a FY22 baseline.
- Prioritize our efforts at the 10 sites that contribute nearly 80% of our emissions to ensure maximum impact.
Water Management
- Reduce our water consumption by 20% from the FY22 baseline by 2030, for Moog sites in 鈥渉igh鈥� and 鈥渆xtremely high鈥� water-stressed areas.
- Implement a Global Water Stewardship Policy and Site Water Stewardship Plans for our top 10 water-consuming sites.
Waste Management
- Reduce our total hazardous waste generation across our operations from a FY22 baseline, tackling as a priority, those hazardous wastes that have greatest impact.

- Focus on the top 10 hazardous waste generation sites that represent more than 90% of our total hazardous waste.
Energy and Climate Change
Climate change is a global issue that poses significant risks to our environment, economy, and society. It also presents risks to our business, including physical risks such as potential damage to our facilities from extreme weather events, and risks associated with the transition to a low-carbon economy, such as changes in policy, law, markets, business models, and technology.
On the other hand, this transition also presents opportunities for businesses that can innovate and adapt. We recognize that by reducing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, we can not only help mitigate the worst impacts of climate change, but also improve our operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance our reputation among stakeholders.
As a responsible corporate citizen, Moog is committed to understanding and managing our environmental impact, particularly as it relates to climate change. We are actively assessing and managing our climate-related risks and implementing decarbonization programs to reduce our carbon footprint. These efforts are not only good for the planet, but also good for our business, helping us stay competitive in a rapidly changing world.
Our Actions
This past year, we completed several projects aimed at reducing our GHG emissions and making the transition to a low-carbon economy:
Completed Energy Audits
Conducted energy audits at our largest contributing sites, bringing the total to nine completed audits.
Solar Array Deployment
Deployed a 1 MW solar array at our Wolverhampton, U.K. site, with an additional system under construction at our site in Baguio, Philippines, and four more sites under design consultation for solar arrays.
Energy Efficient Upgrades
Continued to upgrade rooftop units, air handling units, and building management systems to more energy-efficient systems at our sites in Blacksburg, VA, Salt Lake City, UT, and Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Water Management
Water is critical to life on Earth and to the sustainability of our business. We are committed to protecting this vital resource by reducing our water consumption through strategic initiatives and best practices.
While we are at the beginning of our journey, we recognize the need to mitigate the worst impacts of water stress and our contribution to it by finding ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle water, and sustainably harvest it in the future.
Our Actions
This past year, we completed several projects aimed at reducing water consumption across our sites, including:
Improving Data Accuracy
Installed sensors to improve data accuracy on water usage at our Baguio, Philippines; Bangalore, India; and Torrance, California sites.
Water Distribution Upgrades
Replaced old, damaged underground water distribution lines and implemented rainwater harvesting systems at our Bangalore, India site, a project expected to reduce total water use by up to 60%.
Rainwater Harvesting
Built rainwater harvesting systems at our new facilities in Tewkesbury, United Kingdom, and Taicang, China.听
Investing in Community Water Infrastructure
Adopted indigenous planting to reduce the amount of water required for irrigation at our facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.听
Waste Management
The complexity of our waste streams mirrors the diversity of our facilities at Moog, from office environments to parts manufacturing and assembly. Despite the complexity, we are committed to minimizing the waste generated by our operations.

Over the past year, our waste-reduction efforts have focused on creating a standardized, impact-focused approach to decreasing hazardous waste disposal both upstream and downstream in our operations. These efforts include:
Recycling and Recovery Initiatives
Created several initiatives that prolong the useful life of chemicals, reduce the demand for new chemicals, and avoid the creation of hazardous waste.听
Hazardous Waste Profiling
Implemented a globally consistent hazardous waste profiling process that categorizes and prioritizes waste streams based on their impact on people, communities, and the planet, resulting in a significant improvement in our global waste management practices.
Innovative Packaging Practices
Developed and implemented innovative practices to reduce packaging waste, including the use of recuclable and biodegradable materials, and optimizing packaging designs to minimize waste.听
